Tufte Polar Half Zip is our warmest base layer. It is made of woolen mesh and is suitable for expeditions and extreme cold – it keeps you warm even when the activity level is low. Naturally technical, this high neck long sleeve sweater features two layers of 100% merino wool - an inner layer of wool mesh and an outer layer of wool ribbing. The two layers are interlaced in panels. Wool mesh provides excellent insulation and warmth by trapping air pockets within the mesh structure. The outer layer helps absorb moisture to keep you both warm and dry. For very cold adventures, dress with Tufte Polar next to the skin and layer up with a wind and waterproof warm outer layer or a thick down jacket for good warmth and comfort. Our mulesing freemerino wool has many good qualities; it is super light, soft, non-clingy, warm in the cold and cool in the heat. And it has the ability to resist odor.
